Timothy Busfield (born June 12, 1957) is an American actor and director best known for his Emmy Award-winning portrayal of Elliot Weston, the neurotic advertising executive, in the groundbreaking TV series Thirtysomething (1987–1991).
He gained film recognition as the skeptical brother-in-law Mark in Field of Dreams (1989) and has appeared in notable movies like Revenge of the Nerds (1984), Sneakers (1992), and Quiz Show (1994).
A prolific director of TV episodes including The West Wing, Sports Night, This Is Us, and The Cleaning Lady, Busfield is also a theater veteran and co-founder of Sacramento's B Street Theatre.
