Definition
A state in the northeastern United States, bordered by New York to the west, Massachusetts to the north, Rhode Island to the east, and Long Island Sound to the south.
One of the original 13 colonies, nicknamed 'The Constitution State' for its early adoption of a written constitution in 1639, or alternatively 'The Nutmeg State' due to a historical reputation for shrewd Yankee traders selling wooden nutmegs.
