Definition
A proper name for multiple public high schools across the United States, such as those in Broomfield, Colorado; North Las Vegas, Nevada; Mansfield and Wichita Falls, Texas; Port St. Lucie, Florida; and Kennewick, Washington, emphasizing academic excellence, college preparation, and community traditions.
Informally, any secondary school that prides itself on longstanding traditions, alumni networks, or 'old-school' values passed down like a family heirloom.
