Kim Gordon (born April 28, 1953) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, visual artist, and author, best known as the bassist, guitarist, and co-lead vocalist of the influential alternative rock band Sonic Youth.

A pioneering figure in noise rock and experimental music, she co-founded Sonic Youth in 1981 and has influenced generations of indie and riot grrrl artists with her cool, subversive style.
