James B. Comey Jr. is an American lawyer who served as the seventh Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from 2013 until his termination by President Donald Trump in May 2017.
Prior to the FBI, he held positions including U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and Deputy Attorney General under President George W. Bush.
Comey is now an author of political thriller novels such as Central Park West and Westport, and has recently been subpoenaed in a federal investigation led by a Trump-appointed prosecutor.
