Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf (Persian: محمدباقر قالیباف) is an Iranian conservative principlist politician and former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) military officer serving as the Speaker of the Parliament of Iran since 2020.
He previously served as Mayor of Tehran from 2005 to 2017, chief of police, and has been a perennial presidential candidate, including in 2024.
In recent years, amid the 2025–2026 Iranian protests and the 2026 Iran war, Ghalibaf has emerged as a central figure in wartime leadership and called for harsh measures against protesters.
