The American Express (commonly referred to as the Amex) is an annual professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour, held in January at venues in the Coachella Valley, California, including PGA West and other desert courses. Sponsored by the financial services company American Express since 2022.
Formerly known as the Bob Hope Desert Classic and the Humana Challenge, it features a pro-am format in the early rounds and is renowned for its celebrity participants and luxurious desert setting.
