daylight savings time
Definition
Daylight Saving Time (commonly and incorrectly spelled 'Savings Time') is a seasonal adjustment of clock time, advancing clocks by one hour during periods of increased daylight to make better use of evening light.
In the United States, it typically begins on the second Sunday in March at 2:00 a.m. local time (clocks 'spring forward') and ends on the first Sunday in November at 2:00 a.m. (clocks 'fall back'). For 2026, it starts on March 8 and ends on November 1.
