He serves as the president of the Juntos por el Perú party and was elected as a congressman for Lima in the 2021-2026 term.
Formerly Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism under President Pedro Castillo (2021-2022), he is currently a presidential candidate in the 2026 Peruvian general elections.
