PJM Interconnection (often abbreviated as PJM) is a regional transmission organization (RTO) in the United States that coordinates the high-voltage electricity grid across all or parts of 13 states and the District of Columbia, ensuring reliable power delivery for over 65 million people.
Originally standing for Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland Interconnection, PJM manages wholesale electricity markets, transmission planning, and grid operations in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions.
