A Latvian professional basketball player currently playing as a center for the Atlanta Hawks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nicknamed 'The Unicorn' for his rare combination of size, agility, perimeter shooting, and rim protection.
Born in Liepāja, Latvia, he was selected fourth overall in the 2015 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks and has since earned accolades including an NBA Championship (2024), All-Star selection, and All-Rookie honors.
