Kamala Harris is an American politician and attorney who served as the 49th Vice President of the United States from 2021 to 2025.
She is the first woman, first African American, and first person of Asian descent to hold the office of Vice President.
Prior to her vice presidency, Harris served as U.S. Senator from California (2017–2021), Attorney General of California (2011–2017), and District Attorney of San Francisco (2004–2011).
She was the Democratic Party's nominee for President in the 2024 United States presidential election.
