JD Davison
Definition
Jerdarrian Devontae "JD" Davison (born October 3, 2002) is an American professional basketball player currently serving as a guard for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Formerly with the Boston Celtics organization, where he was a second-round draft pick (53rd overall) in 2021 out of the University of Alabama, and named G-League MVP during his time there.
Known for his explosive athleticism, speed, and playmaking ability despite his 6'1" frame, Davison has emerged as a promising bench spark after being waived by Boston in 2025 and signing with Houston.
Examples
JD Davison's first big minutes off the Rockets bench were a revelation: 9 points, 7 boards, and zero turnovers—like he was auditioning for MVP all over again.
After the Celtics hit the eject button, JD Davison landed in Houston and turned waiver-wire fodder into fast-break fireworks.
At 6'1", JD Davison drives the lane like a human pinball, bouncing past giants who wonder how Letohatchee, Alabama, produced such a speed demon.
JD Davison's G-League MVP trophy gathers dust while he carves out an NBA niche, proving bench roles can be the best glow-ups.
