The Iran–Israel war (13 June – 24 June 2025), also known as the Twelve-Day War, was a brief armed conflict in the Middle East triggered by an unprecedented Israeli attack on Iranian military and nuclear sites, resulting in approximately 1,100 Iranian casualties including senior commanders and scientists.
A colloquial term for ongoing geopolitical tensions, proxy conflicts, or direct confrontations involving the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly with Israel, the US, and allies, as recently described by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian as a 'full-fledged' or 'all-out war'.
