Definition
The national flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a horizontal tricolour featuring equal bands of green (top), white (middle), and red (bottom); centered on the white band is a red emblem representing a stylized tulip or the word 'Allah'; along the edges of the stripes are eleven repetitions of 'Allahu Akbar' ('God is Great') in white Kufic script.
