immigration judge
Definition
A specialized administrative judge in the United States who presides over immigration court proceedings, deciding cases involving deportation, asylum claims, removal of non-citizens, and other immigration matters within the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
An official appointed by the U.S. Attorney General to conduct formal hearings and issue binding decisions on the admissibility or deportability of foreign nationals.
