glioblastoma
Definition
A highly aggressive and malignant type of brain tumor that arises from glial cells, the supportive tissue of the brain; also known as glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), it is classified as a grade IV astrocytoma.
The most common and deadliest primary brain cancer in adults, characterized by rapid growth, infiltration into surrounding brain tissue, and resistance to treatment.
