Erik Johnson (born March 21, 1988) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played 17 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL), most notably with the Colorado Avalanche, where he won the Stanley Cup in 2022. Drafted first overall by the St. Louis Blues in 2006, he was known for his physical play, powerful shot, and two-way defensive skills.
