Dave Yost (born December 22, 1956) is an American Republican politician and lawyer serving as the 51st Attorney General of Ohio since January 14, 2019, until his announced resignation effective June 7, 2026, to join the Alliance Defending Freedom.
In his role as Ohio Attorney General, Yost has aggressively pursued cases involving Medicaid fraud, sham animal rescues, cannabis industry antitrust violations, and other public protection matters.
Formerly the Ohio Auditor of State (2011–2019), Yost is known for his focus on rooting out government waste, corruption, and consumer scams.
