Columbus Zoo

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is a non-profit zoological park and aquarium located in Powell, Ohio, United States, north of Columbus, spanning 580 acres and housing over 10,000 animals from more than 800 species across eight themed regions with naturalistic habitats.
Renowned for its conservation programs, innovative exhibits like Heart of Africa, Polar Frontier, and Manatee Coast, and historical significance including the birth of the first gorilla in captivity (Colo in 1956), it attracts over 2 million visitors annually and has been ranked the top zoo in the US multiple times.
Formerly directed by Jack Hanna from 1978 to 1993, the zoo features additional attractions such as Zoombezi Bay water park, Safari Golf, and is accredited by AZA and WAZA.
