Bethune Cookman

Bethune-Cookman University (often stylized as Bethune Cookman or BCU) is a private historically Black university (HBCU) located in Daytona Beach, Florida, founded in 1904 by educator Mary McLeod Bethune.
The name honors Mary McLeod Bethune, a prominent civil rights activist and educator, and the Cookman Institute, which merged with her Daytona Normal and Industrial Institute.
