Austin Beutner

Austin Beutner (born April 8, 1960) is an American businessman, philanthropist, civic leader, and former public servant.
He served as Superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District from 2018 to 2021 and as publisher and CEO of the Los Angeles Times and San Diego Union-Tribune.
Beutner is currently a candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles in the 2026 election, challenging incumbent Karen Bass.
